Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean to partner with Tribe?

Partnering with Tribe means working with a distribution and execution partner, not just a sales platform.

In addition to selling through Tribe’s own marketplace and e-commerce channels, we manage inventory, fulfilment, and sales across selected third-party platforms. Tribe handles day-to-day execution so founders can stay focused on product, brand, and long-term growth.

Do I need an Australian company or local presence?

No. Tribe manages local operations on your behalf.

This allows you to expand into Australia and the wider ANZ region without setting up a local entity, warehouse, or team. Tribe acts as your on-the-ground partner, handling execution while you remain based in Sri Lanka.

Where will my products be sold?

Your products may be sold across a curated mix of Tribe-owned and established regional sales channels, depending on product fit and market opportunity.

This can include platforms such as Amazon, eBay, Kogan, THE ICONIC, and Big W, alongside Tribe’s own channels.

Channel selection is deliberate and aligned with brand positioning, category fit, and long-term scalability.

How involved will I be after launch?

You remain involved at a strategic level.

Tribe manages execution, operations, and fulfilment, while working closely with you on brand direction, product decisions, and growth opportunities. This ensures alignment without requiring your day-to-day involvement.

How does Tribe choose which brands to work with?

We look for export-ready brands with strong products, clear differentiation, and founders who are serious about building international distribution.

Fit, execution readiness, and long-term potential matter more to us than size or short-term volume.

Is there an upfront fee to partner with Tribe?

Commercial structures vary by brand and are discussed after an initial review.

Our focus is on building partnerships that align incentives and support sustainable, long-term growth rather than transactional arrangements.

What happens after I submit the application?

Every application is reviewed carefully.

If there’s alignment, our team will reach out to discuss your brand, timelines, and potential next steps, including a tailored launch and distribution pathway.

How long does the process usually take?

Timelines depend on product readiness, category requirements, and channel selection.

Once aligned, we focus on moving efficiently while ensuring the right operational and commercial foundations are in place.

How do payouts work, and when do brands get paid?

Tribe manages sales collection across all active channels and provides clear reporting on performance.

Payouts are made on a regular schedule, following reconciliation of sales, platform fees, and agreed operational costs. Exact timelines and structures are shared transparently during the partnership discussion phase.
